Scrapping bills that protect people, land and wildlife is not what Canadians want. It’s what business and development wants. These laws are in place for a reason. If you want to build infrastructure and do development deals, go about it the right way like everyone else. If there is merit and they meet thresholds set out by established law, great. If there are laws that need to be challenged, do so in a way that’s democratic and judicially sound, rather than underhandedly wiping them out with with political power by passing “bills.”
I pray any law that exists to protect our fragile natural systems will never be “scrapped” unless it’s found to be flawed or unfair by the courts and Canadian people themselves. Otherwise, it’s simply corruption of power.
