I think this Bill 5 is a tool that this government will use to bypass all environmental laws and species at risk laws to give the friends of Premier Ford and the Conservative government the ability to build highways, tunnels, mines, factories where ever they want without regard for our current laws. It reminds me of this government selling off the Greenbelt to their close friends and supporters. Might I remind you that we are in a climate crisis and every species at risk where we destroy their habitat upsets the environmental stability. Every wetland we drain brings us closer to flooding and droughts. We have environmental laws for a reason. I want a livable world for my grandchildren and their grandchildren. Also remember that we have treaties with the indigenous people of this land. The Ontario government has no right to use their land as they want.
