As an outfitter, I believe that we must work together with the MNR in providing honest, up to date information. It is rather unfortunate that many outfitters are not providing accurate information, following rules, nor trying to Manage Big Game, especially Black Bear. The Outfitters I have been in contact with do not complete necessary paperwork before hunting, do not monitor ANY harvest of Spring Bear Females with cubs, nor try to manage their BMA for anything except how much money they can put in their pockets!
I am ALL in favor of the new online system ONLY if this foreced ALL outfitters to provide proper paperwork to hunters BEFORE hunting, being honest about the harvest as well as trying to manage the BMA. After all, aren't we ALL in this together for the Big Game?
Finally, this new system would be great for myself as I now make a special trip to meet with the MNR 2 times for Form 33's and 2 times to drop off the completed paperwork. The new system will allow me to complete this on my computer and would be greatly appreciated ONLY if it created more honesty to the MNR with ALL outfitters!
