This is an absurd proposal. It says that the government can include or remove species on the Species At Risk in Ontario (SARO) List, which means they can remove any species that they end up persuading The Committee on the Status at Risk in Ontario (COSSARO) to, if that species does not meet their new requirements to be be classified as at risk, endangered or other. It also suggests removing the term "harass" from actions regarding harm to various species and their habitats/homes. If they remove "harass" from the list of damaging actions to species, then people can then do things to the habitats that would prevent these species from returning, which would mean they can continue with the construction because then there would be no endangered, threatened or extirpated species in that area. So by them removing "harass" it just means they can do whatever they want, like making their habitats uninhabitable, intentionally, however that would look in the future. Please do not pass this.
