This bill aims to prioritize development of the economic sector over irreplaceable environments which provide shelter to already threatened species. As a Canadian citizen I fear it gives developers too much wiggle room to do damage to our precious ecosystems at a time when our environment is already experiencing damages from climate change. I have always loved our natural spaces but to imagine they may be developed with such impunity because of lazy screening practices saddens me immensely. To imagine our forests without birds, coyotes, rabbits, deer, and last of all trees because of irresponsible development practices. To allow this bill to pass is to deprive future generations of Canadians to never experience the national pride of our forests, wetlands, rivers, mountains, etc…
I am opposed to the passing of this bill with every cell in my body. Should it pass, know I have lost all faith in this government to do right by its citizens.
