The changes proposed are extremely dangerous, short-sighted and alarming. Setting things up so that developers can pay to slay species will inevitably destroy critical habitat for species, and likely make the impacts of climate change worse with eroding what little remains of our floodplains. Changing definitions of habitats and giving the government the ability to remove species from the endangered species list whenever it is convenient for them is complete lunacy. Scientists and researchers should be determining the definition of an endangered species, independent of politicians and developers.

Our environment is critical for the functioning of our planet, and destroying it to build condos when there is plenty of land already slated for development with empty strip-malls and decrepit buildings sitting on it just doesn't make any sense. We need to stop destroying natural spaces and what little remains of our farmland to build more poorly planned car-centric communities.

Please rip up Bill 5, it is a perfect example of self-serving political moves, giving developers free rein to destroy our environment for their own profits. Many of those same developers just so happening to be big contributors to the Conservative Party. Collusion at its finest.
