The proposed changes to the Environmental Protection Act are short-sighted and will only exacerbate the biodiversity crisis we are facing, rather than providing more housing. No green spaces should be developed in our province. Instead, housing should be built in areas that are already developed. Densification is the way to go. It is less costly and creates housing where infrastructure already exists. Most importantly, it preserves critical habitat for wildlife and green spaces that can mitigate climate change.
We are part of biodiversity. The human species will cease to exist if we do not protect wildlife and their habitat.
The proposed bill is a huge mistake. Please do not proceed with it.
