Repealing the Endangered Species Act is a terrible idea. You are narrowing the definition of the meaning of habitat, making it as small as a den or nest and the immediate root system of plants, which are less than needed to survive. You are eliminating the requirements to create a strategy for how to recover at risk species. The proposed changes will move Ontario away from a science-based approach to protecting species at risk to one that relies on industry and deveolpers' voluntary and discretionary approaches. Even the recognition that species are endangered would be placed at the discretion of the current government. Please follow the advice of scientists in this matter. Thank you.
