I disagree with the intention of this proposal and I am against this act. Endangered species are protected for good reason and should not be trifled with. It is a farce to suggest Ontario is being protected by removing protection of the vulnerable life that makes this province special.
Ontario is not unable to develop and the timing for permits is reasonable with consideration of what is at stake. Developers and builders have a responsibility to build in a sustainable way without sacrificing the environment or wildlife. Not to mention this act suggests being able to sacrifice those species faster as there is currently no system that prohibits development altogether.
To allow this act to pass would be to allow our province to lose its endearing character for the sake of private companies. We must not allow environment and wildlife protections to be stripped away just because a developer has deemed certain land more desirable to build on.
