I am vehemently against this proposal.
I do not believe that removing protections for our environment and endangered species in any instance is ok, let alone for pure grasps at profit. There are methods for us to increase profit and construction, and to streamline such processes, without destroying our environment in the process.
We need to treat our environment well if we want the world to continue to survive. Ontario has such beautiful green spaces and species within it, and removing protections will end up with a significantly less diverse ecosystem.
Our premier may not care about anything that comes after, and only be focused on current profits, but it is up to us to guard our world for our future and for the future of those who come after. If this bill comes through, where does it end.
This proposal hides behind fancy words, acting as though where profits are concerned, any large businesses will put in effort to protect the environment and endangered species, but we all know this will not happen. That is why it is up to our government to ensure that we and our environment are protected. This proposal should not pass.
