As an ecosystem restoration practitioner, I know there is immense economic value in preserving Ontario's natural heritage. It is also essential for human wellbeing and social productivity and succcess for communities to maintain functioning ecosystems. We need to intensify the number of productive green spaces (woodlands, wetlands, grasslands and forests) and the health of ecosystems which already exist and could be regenerated.
This is NOT the time to scrap protections for ecosystems and their creatures. Ontarians depend on ecosystem services more and more each year (storm water management, ground water recharging, pollination services, carbon sequestration, erosion control, water, air and soil health to name a few)
Keep it beautiful.
