I grew up along the Sydenham River. I watched teams of people over the years research the endangered species the Sydenham River contains. Watched wild life thrive and live within the waters and along the bank. Mollys Creek flows into the Sydenham River. If you’re familiar with where this dump is to be located, Mollys Creek is directly in the impacted area. In a time where our environment is in need of protection the most, this is the time you’re removing Bill 5? It’s disgusting. Our town of approximately 2500 will not accept this. I will never forgot the face of the York 1 man who smiled as Dresden citizens stood there trying to explain this site IS NOT A DUMP. He stood there and said ‘it’s a dump’ trying to compare the 700 garbage trucks a day coming through or around our town to what has laid dormant there for years. A company located hours away thinks they can put a dump that close to our town and endanger our air, water, roads, wildlife, children, for their gain. Put it somewhere else. We need an EA. We need to show how important this piece of land is and the detrimental impacts it will have if we sacrifice this land.
