I do not support the changes proposed in Bill 5. Ontario citizens do not support removing recovery strategies and management plans to make room for more economic considerations. Easing and speeding up accessibility to permits at the cost of endangered species for economic gain is a horrendous proposal. Automatically getting permits after registration without due process will be a recipe for disaster and the endangered species will be at the crux of it all. The Species Conservation Act appears to prioritize the registering and permitting of prohibited activities rather than focusing on the actual protection and conservation of species at risk.
