I am appalled at this latest attempt by the Ford government to circumvent regulations protecting species and their habitat. This proposal is short-sighted and rooted in greed. Ford just wants to remove roadblocks for his billionaire buddies through the creation of 'special economic zones'. And Cabinet is to have the authority to decide which species are included on the endangered list? Since when are the members of Cabinet experts in wildlife biology? I hope this legislation dies on the order table, thereby saving untold numbers of threatened and endangered species and their habitats.
If we pave paradise, what's left for our children and their children?
