I strongly object to the proposed exemptions from the Environmental Bill of Rights that would eliminate Ontarians' rights to be informed about or comment on permits for the Ontario Place project. The Environmental Bill of Rights protects Ontario's environment, including the fragile Ontario Place waterfront ecosystem, which thousands of Ontarians have raised concerns about, offering informed alternatives to the government's plans. This proposal deprives citizens of their rights, ignores valuable community input, and prioritizes foreign private interests over the public good, compromising this critical site and environmental protection during a climate and biodiversity crisis.
