I completely disagree with the devastating changes your government is proposing for the Endangered Species Act. As someone who has worked with the ESA for years, the current rules are clear and the changes in associated policy over the past 15 years have made it easy for companies to comply with if they are at all serious about their project. Your proposed changes will lead to more delays in projects due to court challenges than if the projects followed the current legislation. The only results of this regulation will be the loss of habitat and increased threats to the survival of threatened and endangered species.
I urge you to maintain the current regulation and urge project proponents to follow the ESA regulations to allow completion of socially, economically and environmentally acceptable projects in reasonable time frames rather than gutting them and selling off our environment.
