Though it takes time to process and properly monitor critical habitat prior to development, this process if one of the few checks and balances we have to properly manage the landscape. Loss of habitat due to rushed development will directly impact species that rely on or are only found in critical areas. Many are only there seasonal or grow during timing windows. Time must be allowed to ensure proper protections are in place where industrial or municipal development is planned. Laws should be left in place to fullfill the requirement for sustainable development.
