"Unleashing the Economy"??…

"Unleashing the Economy"?? How about unleashing Doug Ford's need to simply steamroll everything in his path using the economy as his modus operandi. Removing these environmental study requirements has got to be the most asinine thing I've heard.

What is YOUR mantra? Do harm now, we'll be dead or voted out when the bill comes due. Perhaps everyone who votes for the removal of the environmental impact study should be forced to bring their young families to Dresden and live less than a kilometre from this monstrosity.

This property is just over 800 metres from the town of Dresden; imagine what it would be like to have such a facility 800 metres from your home. There is no feasible haul route for the hundreds of trucks that would go to and from the facility, meaning trucks would be driving through our towns and neighbouring communities, causing safety risks. This property is in a sensitive environmental area, which is particularly concerning when we see the limited environmental analysis that has ever been done to consider a landfill in this location. The property is not appropriately zoned and considering sensitive uses in close proximity, such as schools, it is hard to see how zoning changes to allow this use could be approved.

Could you please think about the human cost of this and not just how Doug can line developers pockets, for goodness sake?? This is utter madness.
