The consultations should take place before these proposed changes to Endangered Species Act take
place. Its like having the cart ahead of the horse. Pushing these changes through without proper consultation is dangerous to many species and to the health of our environment. How are we to know that these consultations will actually take place? Is this just window dressing as the dye is already set?
We are very concerned about this process not being more transparent. We all have a social, economic and environmental responsibility to uphold especially in these challenging times. We need to be mindful that we are not the cause of further destruction to our planet as we hurry along changes that we will not be able to undo.
Please reconsider your decision to moving forward without doing consultations first. This type of change should have had major media coverage and consultations with the many Indigenous groups and the general Public...first.
Thank you
