Very simply, you cannot put the economy over the environment. Anyone can tell you that doing so is not in the best interest for the residents of Ontario. It is not responsible governance to strip safeguards and then turn all decision making power to an elected individual with no checks and balances, let alone the oversight of people who are educated and trained in proper environmental stewardship. Without oversight, in the long run all the economy-centric decisions will only benefit the large companies who have bought shortcuts while the tax payers of Ontario inadvertently end up paying off law suits do to environment damage that result.
These proposed changes are not in the best interest of the majority of of Ontarians who elected this government.
