I strongly object to the proposed exemptions from the Environmental Bill of Rights that would strip Ontarians of their right to be notified about or have a say in permits related to Ontario Place. This bill exists to protect Ontario's environment for current and future generations. Thousands of Ontarians have raised legitimate concerns over the vulnerable waterfront ecosystem at OP. We have shown up, spoken out and presented educated thought out alternatives at every turn - this exemption silences the public and *undermines the democratic right* of citizens to protect their province.
This proposal does NOT serve the public. It pushes a private, closed door agenda at the expense of public trust and environmental integrity. It only serves private interests and foreign corporations.
Ontario deserves better.
