The proposals contained in the Species Conservation Act are appalling. It is a major set back for biodiversity in Ontario. The new act takes away meaningful species protection and the use of science based information to protect species. We do not need these changes in order to have economic success in Ontario. These changes will impoverish species and their habitats and will result in diminished health for Ontario citizens. Shame on the government for such proposals.
