If Ontario is serious about fighting climate change, it cannot repeal the Endangered Species Act and weaken environmental oversight. Ecosystem health is directly linked to climate mitigation and adaptation. Bill 5 will lead to more emissions, less resilience, and broken international commitments. This bill is incompatible with any credible climate policy and should be withdrawn.
