The proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act, with the introduction of Bill 5 is something that I am directly opposed to. I am making this comment to express my displeasure with the Bill and concern for the many protections that are being removed with the revision. Things such as the removal of the current Species At Risk advisory committee with the added prevention of the creation of a new advisory committee restricts advocacy for the environment and giving the government free authority to remove any species from the endangered species list ignores the voices of experts. Both of these changes will damage the protections in place for critical habitats needed for many species survival.
