Dear Premier Ford and others - I want to start by saying how impressed I was with your response to Trump's tariffs, even if you backed out on your threat to withhold hydro after your visit to the US. Even though the appearance was that you got slapped down and ran home with your tail between your legs, I accepted that you must have had a bigger purpose in mind. However, all that respect I had developed has gone out the window with Bill-5. I strongly oppose this legislation and I'm appalled that a Government of Ontario, supposedly acting in the best interests of its constituents, would suggest that Bill 5 is the best way to protect Ontario’s economy. Sacrificing our children's future for the sake of your wealthy developer buddies is purely a Trumpian act. The only people who will benefit from this act of environmental rape are the wealthy landowners and developers. The safeguards you propose to remove so that developers can access our natural and agricultural lands with little to no oversight were put in place to protect the citizens of Ontario both now and into the future. By removing those protections you are declaring that you do not care about your own grandchildren's future, let alone all the other "average" residents of this great province. Please repeal Bill-5 - it is the greatest threat to our future ever invoked by a government in Queen's Park.
