As a resident of Ontario, I am STRONGLY opposed to the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act. Although increasing housing developments is an important issue, there are responsible ways to go about this WITHOUT putting more strain upon our wildlife and our ecosystem. As Ontarians are suffering from unprecedented environmental changes in recent years (increased flooding, wildfires, etc.), it is more important now than ever to protect our wildlife and ecosystem, NOT exploit them. These proposed changes will allow profit-driven businesses to begin development without sufficient oversight and will cause irreparable harm to our already at-risk wildlife. In sum, I do not support the provincial government in enacting these changes to the Endangered Species Act.
