I strongly object to the Endangered Species repeal. We must not prioritize building on conservation efforts. Voluntary initiatives like habitat restoration that protect and conserve species cannot be enforced, they are voluntary.
The proposed definition of 'habitat' for animals does not include food sources, how can they survive if you take away the areas where they find food?
I also disagree with the government being able to remove species from the protected list, they are on the list based on independent scientific research. If the government can decide to ignore that research then there might as well not be a list. All species are here for a purpose which we may or may not understand. To indiscriminately allow them to disappear threatens our environment and cannot be tolerated.
