I'm very concerned and DO NOT support BILL 5 - Species Conservation Act 2025. We have a responsibility as citizens of Ontario to speak up and be a defense against further attacks on our already fragile eco systems (wetlands) and to protect our biodiversity. It is SO troubling to me that I have to use my loudest voice against our own provincial government. There is an economic way forward (as outlined by other political parties) that doesn't have to involve gutting our conservation and protection acts & policies and sabotaging the survival of our most vulnerable species, their habitats and future Ontarians. I'm also concerned at how our current provincial gov't seizes on the fears and economic vulnerabilities of its citizens in order to push through, at fast speed, their money focused initiatives for the gain of a few already wealthy stakeholders. It has to STOP.
