This law will degrade Ontario’s environment and wildlife significantly. It will put many species at risk of extinction through fragmenting their habitat and removing accountability at government and corporate levels to protect them. It is out of keeping with science, and with the goal to maintain Ontario as a healthy environment for people to live in. It is this latter point that concerns me most as a physician, practicing in Ontario and trying to help with my community’s health. I am in strong opposition to this law and hope that Premier Ford and his government reconsider.
