I strongly oppose changes to the Endangered Species Act and proposal for the Species Conservation Act. Let’s be real, this is not about conservation, this is about prioritizing development at the cost of life on this planet. We need to maintain the Endangered Species Act no matter how inconvenient it may be for developers, mining operations and private interest. We are facing a biodiversity crisis and this is not the way forward. We will lose critical habitat and the species that depend on these ecosystems forever. We need to rely on scientific data, not politicians, for information about the health and population of at risk species. How dare they propose such a bill. I am disgusted by this government’s actions.
