The barriers and processes that are in place to build in Ontario are there for everyone’s protection and should not be removed. The assessments, consultations, and other efforts help us to ensure that the land that is being ‘developed’ is going to still be here long after the construction is complete! Getting rid of these processes in favour of speed does not benefit anybody but the developers - in the long run, our environment, the wildlife in our ecosystems, and we as humans will suffer if we do not maintain strong processes of assessment and preparation that values land and beings beyond ourselves.
The Endangered Species Act, 2007 should not be changed without due consideration, and this Bill insults the trust of Ontario voters by trying to rush to a conclusion without our awareness. Do not pass these changes. Value our land, and the people of this province, by not devaluing the checks in the Endangered Species Act with these inconsiderate and irresponsible ideas in the proposed changes. Value the environment over profit.
