The Species Conservation Act provides insufficient protection to wildlife. The definition of protected habitat should not be changed from what is described in the Endangered Species Act. It should remain a broader term. Also, the government should not be allowed to remove species from the protected list, and it should not have the power to refuse to add species to the protected list when they are classified by COSSARO. Also, it is crucial that there remain the need for developers to get permits and execute beneficial actions and attenuation measures. The concept of "harass" should not be removed from species protection, since it will then allow developers and others to disturb individuals of a species until they leave that location, which would then permit the developers and others to destroy the former habitat. Do not repeal the Endangered Species Act.
