I strongly oppose this bill
This bill is a direct attack on Ontario's environment, clean energy, and Indigenous rights. It would repeal the Endangered Species Act, stripping protections for vulnerable wildlife, and could effectively ban solar energy-forcing Ontario to rely on expensive, polluting fracked gas.
Bill 5 also undermines Indigenous involvement by eliminating archaeological assessments and creates Special Economic Zones where developers can ignore local regulations. On top of that, it exempts the Therme Group's Ontario Place development from environmental accountability.
Ontarians deserve better. I urge you to reject Bill 5 and stand up for our communities, our environment, and our future.
