I strongly oppose the passing of the Special Economic Zones Act which gives the Premier and Cabinet the power to declare any part of Ontario a "Special Ecomonmic Zone". While we want to encourage economic development and housing construction we cannot do so without proper assessmenet and determination of the risk of irreversible environmental impacts. The maintencance of a healthy environment and diversity of a healthy wildlife population is vistal for generations to come, our children, grandchildren and beyond.
