It is not a bad thing to have the redevelopment of Ontario Place to be subject to public scrutiny. Because proposals are posted on the Environmental Registry, earlier this year, plans to dump sewage in the West Channel were withdrawn, because the ERO notice generated thousands of alarmed comments from swimmers. This is a good thing - it prevented a health and safety disaster that would have affected millions of users, and been grossly costly to fix.
It is not a bad thing to slow down the planning and permitting of large projects. They are usually so complex that struggling provincial staff have little ability to think of all the angles.
Scrap this schedule, and focus on providing the best facilities and infrastructure that is safe and beneficial to all Ontarians.
