I have been birding for over 30 years and am very concerned about the decline in numbers of various species; aerial insectivores, grassland birds,, neotropical migrants, to name a few groups. I noticed that the Ford Government is planning to spend almost $40,000,000 to revitalize Wasaga Beach. The return of nesting Piping Plovers to the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park area has given me hope that species can recover if habitat is preserved. I wonder if the changes to the bill will lead to the erasure of this breeding habitat. I believe that the legislation it is to replace was created thoughtfully and had much informed opinion to back it. The Progressive Conservative Government of Doug Ford seems to have lost sight of the conserve part of its name with the new bill.
