Under absolutely NO circumstances should the government be able to remove an endangered species. There is a committee of independent/non-political members who base decisions on science and evidence.
The government could completely disregard science and move on political expediency/convenience (petitioned by friends/donors). Given the past scandals involving the green belt, the current government should have ZERO say in what is endangered and what isn’t.
