As a concerned citizen, I strongly oppose the rollback of protections for bird species under the Endangered Species Act. This decision threatens not only the survival of already-vulnerable populations but also undermines decades of conservation progress.
Birds are key indicators of ecosystem health. Their decline often signals broader environmental damage that will inevitably affect human health, agriculture, and biodiversity. Species like the [insert local example, e.g., Eastern Meadowlark or Red Knot] are already facing population collapse due to habitat loss and climate change. Removing federal protections now is both reckless and scientifically indefensible.
I urge the agency to reconsider this decision and uphold its responsibility to protect at-risk wildlife for current and future generations.
