Greetings!
I am writing to request that the section of Bill 5 dealing with Special Economic Zones (SEZ’s) be rescinded. The wording is so vague as to suggest the government is proposing abandoning the rule of law. The deliberately vague framework means we can’t simply sit back and trust that the regulations to be subsequently developed will carefully take into account the multitude of problems that have occurred in other countries that have initiated SEZ’s, for example, greater regional disparities, exacerbating social disparities, increased crime, increased drug problems, etc. The justifiable widespread opposition to this Bill indicates that if passed it will create new sources of distrust for this government.
