I am voicing the strongest possible objection to the proposed exemptions from the Environmental Bill of Rights. The Ontario Place project must be held to the legal process outlined in the Environmental Bill of Rights.
Thousands of Ontarians have spoken out about their concerns related to this fragile waterfront ecosystem. They have provided intelligent, well-informed commentary along with realistic and reasonable alternatives to the governments current plans.
This proposal is not in the public interest and serves only to benefit the private interests of foreign companies. They are destroying public land and compromising the future of this critical waterfront site. Environmental protection and citizens rights must be prioritized over all other interests.
