What they are saying is they want to expedite the process of getting permits to develop areas which they see are necessary for their projects. It eliminates the federal acts already in place for the protection of endangered species in those areas. They acknowledge that there are endangered species and will endeavour to place them in areas where they will thrive. The government has too much say in what is an endangered species in order to develop land. Greed for development and personal success should never weigh into the conversation. Species are endangered in many ways due to the development that has already taken place. I feel we should protect endangered species environmentalists should continue to use the federal laws already in place. The Ontario government needs to slow down and think about what’s important. Don’t put personal favours before protecting the future. The Greenbelt issue with Ford comes to mind.
