ERO 025-0409
As a Canadian citizen who resides in Ontario, I’m respectfully submitting these comments regarding ERO 025-0409, Proposed amendments to the Mining Act 1990, Electricity Act 1998, and Ontario Energy Board Act 1998, to protect Ontario’s Economy and Build a More Prosperous Ontario.
Specifically, I’m concerned about environmental impacts from proposed amendments to the Electricity Act, 1998 that place limitations on components from companies or entities from specific countries in Ontario’s energy sector.
Currently, China makes the majority of solar panels, wind turbines and renewable energy control systems in the world. Placing limitations on these components would make it more difficult for Ontario to phase out environment-damaging natural gas electricity generation and deprive Ontarians of access to the cleanest and most affordable energy sources.
Thank you for taking these comments into consideration.
