I am leaving comments pertaining to Bill 5. I do not support Bill 5 as it allows the current provincial government to exercise powers that over-rule existing provincial and municipal laws and legislation for personal gain of companies and the current government in power. It eliminates protections for species at risk. It will not only speed the demise of those species requiring protections, it will destroy the very ecosystems that species at risk and the people of Ontario rely on for their health and wellness.

Bill 5 will allow the ruling provincial conservatives the power to ignore legislative input as well as public feedback. This Bill is yet another example of how the current provincial government is putting private interests over public rights. It is also being strategically rammed through while the attention of most Canadian's is overwhelmed by the fallout of tariffs, trade wars, and the daily challenges of life.

This Bill is undemocratic, self-serving, and certainly not in the best interest of the people, places, and species we cherish in this province. Perhaps instead of focusing on Bill 5, the current government could start helping out Ontario citizens cope with the ever rising cost of living, losses from floods/fires/disease caused by climate change, protect the wild places & all species living in ecosystems to ensure we don't squander these vital natural assets, and quit pretending they are offended by the administration South of the border (whose politics they are mirroring).
