As a young person I have a firm belief that we NEED affordable housing, affordable public transit, and modern infrastructure. That said, my youth and my aspirations do not blind me to the threats that these particular changes pose to our environment, our economy, and to our democracy.
If I may, I will direct my comment directly towards the proponents of this amendment:
By devaluing endangered species and removing protections from the habitats of our remaining wildlife, do you expect to have anything left?
By opening "special economic zones", do you truly believe that your developer friends will adequately return the favour to you when you have sacrificed priceless nature?
Changes like this do not protect Ontario as so promised: they undermine the very values with which we have prospered, and they jeopardise any semblance of a just future.
Needless to say, I am deeply deeply concerned. I hope for the sake of me, my children, and yours, you stop these amendments now.
