The proposal to remove the current requirement that the Project undergo a comprehensive environmental assessment through the proposed Protecting Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act is short-sighted and unwise. This is a massive project that will have a major impact on the landscape of Ontario including vulnerable species and important ecosystems such as wetlands and peatlands. A comprehensive environmental assessment must happen for this project. I urge you to immediately redact these changes.
