I am horrified by the proposed exemptions from the Environmental Bill of Rights and the more I read about what it entails, the more it instills an existential dread in me for the future of Ontario's environment.
Beyond Ontario place, the development of which is a travesty to Toronto's culture and public sphere, this Bill's proposal to remove the community from decision making, in the name of profit is hugely detrimental to the future of our province.
The climate and biodiversity crisis we are facing cannot be washed over. It will affect us all. Transparency, accountability and democracy must remain a part of decision making when it comes to the ecosystems that affect all Ontarians.
