This consultation was poorly advertised and scheduled to end on the Saturday of a long weekend???
The actual content of the bill is infuriating because it disregards crucial ecosystems that have no parallels in the world - we draw visitors that come and stay in hotels and study our unique ecology, particularly in the area affected by this legislation. That would all go away for construction that is going to cause pollution to sensitive habitats.
Secondly, this is hugely disrespectful to Indigenous land rights. You can't keep trampling them without recognizing whose land we're on. Stop selling stolen land to be destroyed and profited on. Not everything needs to be a money-making adventure - especially when none of the money goes to Indigenous communities.
