The proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act are highly concerning, representing an overall loss of 'checks and balances' to species protections in the Province of Ontario. The province should focus more on the improvement of internal processes within the Species at Risk division of MECP, rather than repealing the overall act. I am concerned that these proposed changes will have irreparable damage to vulnerable species, resulting in the overall decline of Ontario's biological diversity.
