I have been a resident of Wasaga Beach for the past 25 years. Seen many changes, some good and some not so good in my opinion.
I can see no reason why the beach should be turned over to the Town Of Wasaga Beach. The province of Ontario is responsible for maintaining the beach and so long as it remains the property of the province there would be no worry that eventually portions of the beach could become private due to the council wanting to change things.
Even if there was stipulation that the beach could never be sold, what would be the cost to taxpayers? Nowhere could I find out the cost to the Taxpayers of Wasaga Beach if there is a transfer. I think if that was information was available it would help a lot of people to make a decision.
