These are public lands - established and protected for the enjoyment and wellbeing of all. All people and subsequently, all wildlife. Let's be frank and call these proposed legislative amendments what they really are - a land grab. The sale of public, protected lands to line the pockets of municipal developers. The destruction of Endangered species' habitat, CRITICAL habitat, and all for what? Money?! More privatized beachfront?! And who is that benefiting? The people, the public, the many species of wildlife that already live on the beach? Or the few, the rich? The rare biodiversity nurtured on these beaches is worth far more to far man more people than another developed beachfront.
I completely disagree with the tabled legislative amendments, and i think that the Town of Wasaga Beach should be ashamed to even propose them!
